DAILY POSITIVE IMPACT – THEY FOUGHT FOR THEIR LOVE THROUGH ALL THE PREJUDICE

A priest refused to bless their union, but this mixed-race couple fought for their love through all  the prejudice and stayed together for more than seven decades.
Trudy and Barclay Patoir met at work in 1943, and his kindness and care won her heart. Indeed, how could you not fall in love with a man who brings you tea and sandwiches? ☕🥪💖
Being judged for their mixed-race relationship and given no chance to have a happy marriage, the loving couple proved critics wrong. They shared their 73-year story of love and prejudice in 2017. 💞👵👴
In 2020, Trudy and Barclay passed away within hours of one another. Barclay was 100 and Trudy was 99 then. 🕰️❤️
I hope, through the publication of positive stories and resources, to energize readers to take their own actions to make our world a better place. If you are already there, thanks!!
Have a healthy and impactful life, Peter Prichard

The focus of my Daily Positive Impact posts is captured in many studies:
–Researchers at the University of Southampton found in a study involving over 2,000 respondents that consuming bad news can cause anxiety and an overall bad mood. Uplifting news, on the other hand, motivated readers to make a positive impact rather than lament societal issues.
–Witnessing acts of kindness produces Oxytocin, which aids in lowering blood pressure and improving our overall heart-health. Oxytocin also increases our self-esteem and optimism: www.randomactsofkindness.org
